These workshops are developed by our team to teach hands-on STEAM concepts and expose youth to what STEAM careers use these concepts. This exposure educates students and gives them the confidence that someone like them can excel in a STEAM focused career.

Empowerment Zone Collective has a combined 15+ years worth of experience launching and mentoring robotics teams for underrepresented youth. We conduct workshops for youth to introduce them to the concepts of First Lego League (FLL) and host coaches workshops to teach new FLL coaches with non-technical backgrounds how to build and program robots.

Youth literacy rates have been falling across the United States for the last five years. The decrease in literacy rates has vast impacts on youth’s long term success both in K-12 and post-high school pursuits. Empowerment Zone Collective is committed to providing local youth with after-school literacy programming to improve their K-12 outcomes.

This program is part of our mission to strengthen financial sustainability, expand environmental education, and empower youth advocacy while addressing illegal dumping, water quality, and community engagement. For this program, the EZC will host several informational workshops over four weeks centered around proper disposal of trash and nature preservation.
